Broad-winged Hawk

Sometimes, you just get really lucky!  I was photographing some flowers when I looked up and saw this Broad-winged Hawk fly by.  I just pointed and snapped–no time to deal with camera settings.  I was so happy when I saw that the exposure was decent.  This is the second year a Broad-winged Hawk has nested in our woods.

The first of three robin eggs on my porch hatched yesterday.  I haven’t checked yet this morning, but I’m sure the others will follow very soon.

Beautiful bird. I like the feather details on the wings.
