Season of Gray

There is a lot I love about Michigan, but the number of gray days in the winter is not on the list.  I can handle the cold and the snow, but a bright sunny day makes a world of difference.  Today is gray–just not enough light to go out and photograph birds.  I did have about an hour window yesterday morning where the was a bit of sunlight.  I seized the opportunity and ran over to one of my favorite parks.  I was only able to get a few photos.

There was a cute little Pied-billed Grebe swimming around, but he just wouldn’t come close enough for a good photo.

It’s going to be a long winter.

I like the white-throated sparrow. They spend the summer with us.
